How Long Does it Take? Driving time to Gerstfelhohe is about thirty minutes, with an hour or two inside the museum. The Thaleischweiler bunker is about a ten minute detour off the same route; exploring the outside of the bunker area takes less than thirty minutes depending on your interest. Combining the two sites make a nice weekend afternoon trip close to home. The popular Hitscherhof farm B&B is over the hill from the Thaleischweiler bunker.
Food and Services: No food service is available at the museum. The museum has a restroom.
What else do I need to know? Gerstfeldhohe is open only on weekends from April to October or by appointment. Don't forget a jacket because the inside temp is 55 degrees year round! A visit to both the Gerstfeldhohe and Bad Bergzabern museums is interesting as the bunkers are completely different in design and function.
